This body of work was designed to portray the innovation emerging from one of MIT's leading-edge laboratories. Capturing the broad messages and the subtle nuances of the work being done here entailed a continually shifting focus from the tools of technology to the faces of technology. I needed to show researchers during periods of quiet invention and during spirited collaboration, to describe both the intricacy and the excitement of their work, and along the way illustrate the multifaceted process of scientific discovery
